The long-awaited fps4000 range is now available to order via the website. This is a highly modular design and consists of 6 different models.
The fps4000 comes in 3 resolution / frame rate variants:
3840 x 2160 @ 500fps
1920 x 1080 @ 2,000fps
1280 x 720 @ 4,000 fps
The built in memory is a massive 1.28 TBytes (that’s 1,280 GBytes) which has now been partitioned into 2 parts. There is a 40 second real-time frame buffer for up to 40 seconds of continuous recording at the maximum frame rate. This record time increases for lower frame rates. This is now backed with a 2 minute backup memory – much like an SSD. The idea is that after recording up to 40 seconds, you can then select either all or part of the clip to be saved into the backup memory. In this way you can compile many small clips and save them in camera to avoid having to interrupt a shoot. The transfer to backup memory is instant, at the touch of a button. This unique feature is normally only available at great expense and can take minutes to save.
The new range has also been upgraded with a much larger battery that is now very simple to change. All of the other features of the fps1000 have been retained such as the 5″ touch screen and simple user interface. New features include a zoom function on preview to facilitate focusing.
There is also a lower cost option of all these models with half the memory and half the frame rate. This has been called the fps2000 range.
The fps2000 also comes in 3 resolution / frame rate variants:
3840 x 2160 @ 250fps
1920 x 1080 @ 1,000fps
1280 x 720 @ 2,000 fps
